Ramadan Children in Needs Gift – Education Aid For Palestinians (EAP)
Children in needs are oft-neglected and considered less of a priority than children with special needs. In fact, special needs children gain most of the popularity of our donors. However, neglecting these children and considering them as ‘less needy’ is problematic and will create long term harm to Palestinian society.
Who are the children in need?
In Palestine, most children looking for help come from deprived families and are very poor. They’re neither orphans nor disabled, but they’re struggling to go about their normal life because basic necessities are missing in their daily life. Their father and mother are alive but are struggling financially to provide even the most basic necessities for their children.
Purpose of the project
Many students face physical or learning disabilities which makes attending school extra difficult, not to mention the hindering factors around students, from the hampering siege to the low morale levels of Palestinians. Therefore, the project aims to tackle this issue and operates in the West Bank, Gaza Strip and the Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon. Some of the needy students have are natural ones, however the majority are due to the war. Not to mention, many cases are not even registered or declared by the families so the numbers are even more harrowing.
However, at EAP we believe that everyone, including the disenfranchised should have equal access to education since it is a basic right on every human being.
